'Jern tæppet' var mestendels metaforisk, men metalgitter hegnene der bliver sat op, i disse dage, langs Ungarns grænse til Serbien, er helt virkelige. Nu da Ungarn, Østrig, Slovakiet og Holland alle følger Tysklands eksempel i at udøve grænse kontrol, hvilket suspender EU's åbne grænser politik, kan man undre sig over hvilke andre tiltag der er på vej, i Europa's tiltagende migration/ flygtninge krise.

The outpouring of sympathy following the death of 3-year-old Aylan Kurdi has spawned protests and many other displays of public support, and resulted in the bizarre spectacle of vehemently anti-human Western leaders, with notorious track records of abominable cruelty towards "swarms" of war victims of all descriptions, suddenly falling all over themselves to welcome refugees. Barely two months after the German-led EU mentally-waterboarded Greek leaders and fiscally carpet-bombed the Greek people, Germany is now leading the charge to accept an 'unlimited' number of Syrian refugees, with at least 800,000 expected to arrive there this year. Angela Merkel told one Palestinian girl that she couldn't stay in Germany, but nearly a million Syrian refugees are kosher?
Beware Turks bearing gifts
Harrison Koehli posited that the acceptance of large numbers of Syrian refugees in the EU and elsewhere is likely providing a plausible basis for blaming 'ISIS' in future terror attacks in Europe. There are indeed a number of facets to this refugee crisis that suggest a hidden hand is manipulating the situation. For one thing, survivors of the same mass drowning incident that claimed Aylan say the boy's own father is one of those notorious 'people-smugglers' we have been told are largely to blame for refugees making dangerous voyages to Europe. Contrary to what Aylan's father has been saying in interviews, HE was apparently 'the captain' to whom its passengers handed over thousands of dollars per head in return for a safe trip to Greece. According to several survivors, they weren't yet out of the water when Kurdi began begging them not to rat on him.

Displaced and desperate people are easy prey for manipulative con men, who can bribe, recruit or otherwise induce them into doing things they might not ordinarily do. In Europe, there have already been attempts to recruit the newly-arrived and vulnerable refugees into 'playing jihad'.
At the other end of the Syrian refugee trail, the Turkish government has spent $6 billion building what the New York Times (accurately) described as "the perfect refugee camps" along its border with Syria. You can bet the farm that it has not done so for altruistic reasons. When you're reading accounts of the horror these refugees are escaping, keep in mind that at least some of them - those lucky enough to have made it to one of Turkey's fully-equipped, exceptionally well-run, and immaculately clean camps - were in no way 'forced by circumstance' to undertake a risky journey to western Europe. I'm not suggesting that these refugees 'have it so good'; I'm suggesting that these impressive camps run by the Turkish government - which has gone above and beyond the highest international standards of care - point to ulterior motives on the part of Turkey and its Western and regional allies.

How difficult would it be for them to recruit people-smugglers tasked with leading people on an exodus out of the region?
Geopolitical 'fun and games'
I suspect that Western power-brokers have only recently developed an interest in refugees from 'Syraq' because of various political and strategic angles that can be worked from it. Number one on that list is the objective they have spent $billions on since 2011: removing Bashar al-Assad from power. This refugee crisis is providing them with the rationale to enact the 'surge' they hope will topple al-Assad once and for all. Washington is 'alarmed' by Moscow's insistence that a real solution to the mess in Syria must involve the Syrian government and military, and has been putting out false reports about the extent of Russian military support for Syria. In an effort to keep the Russians at bay, they're cashing in on the public sentiment that 'something must be done!' by pushing for more airstrikes in Syria, and sending more Western special forces there. Note, this is not about defeating 'ISIS', but using 'ISIS' plus NATO airstrikes to oust Syria's democratically-elected leader.
Expressing the plain simple truth about the origins of this refugee crisis, Putin recently said:
"I think the crisis was absolutely expected. We in Russia said that pervasive problems would emerge if our so-called Western partners continue maintaining their foreign policy, especially in the Muslim world - the Middle East and North Africa - which they pursue to date."Russia provided a clear way out for all parties back in 2012, when its UN ambassador proposed a deal that would initiate peace talks and lead to the 'elegant' removal of Assad from power. The media would have us believe that the US rejected the Russian deal because they calculated (wrongly) that it was only a matter of weeks before al-Assad would go the way of Gaddafi. The truth, however, is that regime change in Syria was never only about removing Assad. The US empire of chaos' Middle Eastern policy also requires any new Syrian government to be sufficiently compliant to play a role in further regime change in Iran (and beyond), with the ultimate goal of reconfiguring oil and gas pipeline politics in the region in an effort to thwart Russian and Chinese economic expansion.
It's not surprising therefore that the merest whiff of increased Russian military involvement in Syria is enough to freak Washington out. In a recent interview about his US foreign policy accomplishments, Henry Kissinger interjected to point out that "reducing the Soviet role in the Middle East was not minor." Indeed, reducing Russia's role in global affairs can be thought of as the major foreign policy concern for Washington strategists. If setting Ukraine on fire was undertaken with a view to keeping Russia back from Europe, the battle for Syria (and Iraq) is about keeping Russia back from the Middle East. It is no coincidence that the 'global war on terror' was rebooted with the rebranding of 'Islamic terrorism' in the form of 'ISIS' months after Russia's stunning response to the American coup d'etat in Kiev.
Washington's 'reality-creators' are accusing Russia of 'propping up the dictator Assad', but Russia has explicitly said that it is indifferent to whether or not al-Assad stays on. The bottom line for the Kremlin is eminently rational: if Assad is removed, ISIS and/or other extremists will take over and the cancer will spread. The Kremlin says this with full awareness of who controls ISIS. The US, on the other hand, couldn't give a flying falcon that its actions are gifting another large swathe of the Middle East to right-wing, head-chopping misogynists. After all, Washington thrives on dirty deals with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf monarchies because its royal 'Sunni' elites are the kinds of 'Muslims' it sees eye to eye with, and, historically, Washington has always found common cause with the Middle East's right-wing fundamentalist nutjobs rather than its secular, progressive moderates. But Russia has apparently drawn a line in the sand; Syria was the last Middle Eastern country that the US will be allowed to destroy.
Caitlin McFarland, a Fox News 'National Security Analyst', recently blamed Russia and China for the refugee crisis because they're "sending weapons that have kept the civil war going", and thus caused the refugee crisis. She of course made no mention of US weapons, special forces, and Washington's explicit drive for regime change in Syria going back to 2006, at least. The one useful thing about US propaganda, especially when it comes via Murdoch's schizoidal tabloid TV, is that it is often 180 degrees from the truth, and can thus reveal Washington's own hand. The Fox News pundit interviewing McFarland further suggested that the Syrian refugees are being "sloughed off" onto Europe by the two Eurasian powers because they "want to give Europe something to think about." You would be hard pressed to find a clearer explanation of Washington's policy revealed via US media talking points...
This suggestion that the refugees - particularly those coming from Turkey - are being 'coached' leads me to question the route they are taking to reach Germany. Why would you risk your life once to reach Greece by boat - and thus land on EU territory - only to leave it again, and have to re-enter the EU in Hungary? Why not enter the EU in Bulgaria, then stay in the EU all the way to the wealthier center? Greece, Macedonia and Serbia are all on the US State Department's radar because of their gas and other trade negotiations with Russia. Are the Syrian refugees being encouraged to take that route to also "give [those countries] something to think about"?
In a decidedly ominous sign of what is to come, Germany has opted to use the former Nazi concentration camps of Buchenwald and Dachau to house refugees. While I can imagine that the German federal and Lander governments only intend do so as temporary measures, it's not difficult to see that people in Europe, already divided on the issue of taking in large numbers of predominantly Muslim refugees - thanks to over a decade of 9/11-inspired anti-Muslim propaganda - could welcome totalitarian measures once future terror attacks are blamed on 'ISIS among the refugees'.
This is not a drill
While the focus is currently on Europe, an 'immigration crisis' has 'coincidentally' been brewing in the US. Decades of abuse by the US government and US corporations in their 'backyard' have brought ever-growing numbers of 'migrants' (or 'refugees', if you consider that parts of northern Mexico are effectively in a state of civil war) northwards, resulting in steel wire border fences, over-stretched security and social services, and a buffoon running for the White House on an anti-immigration platform.
These synchronous developments lead me to wonder whether something beyond geopolitical concerns may be taxing minds at the top of the food chain: mass migrations resulting from abrupt climate shift. A 2004 report commissioned by decades-long Pentagon foreign policy strategist Andrew Marshall provided the following future scenario to the Bush administration...
Climate change over the next 20 years could result in a global catastrophe costing millions of lives in wars and natural disasters.
A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a 'Siberian' climate by 2020. Nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt across the world.
The document predicts that abrupt climate change could bring the planet to the edge of anarchy as countries develop a nuclear threat to defend and secure dwindling food, water and energy supplies. The threat to global stability vastly eclipses that of terrorism, say the few experts privy to its contents.
"Disruption and conflict will be endemic features of life," concludes the Pentagon analysis. "Once again, warfare would define human life." [...]
By 2020, "catastrophic" shortages of water and energy supply will become increasingly harder to overcome, plunging the planet into war. They warn that 8,200 years ago climatic conditions brought widespread crop failure, famine, disease and mass migration of populations that could soon be repeated. [...]
Randall [co-author] told The Observer that the potential ramifications of rapid climate change would create global chaos. "This is depressing stuff," he said. "It is a national security threat that is unique because there is no enemy to point your guns at and we have no control over the threat."
Randall added that it was already possibly too late to prevent a disaster happening. "We don't know exactly where we are in the process. It could start tomorrow and we would not know for another five years," he said. [...]
Marshall, 82, is a Pentagon legend who heads a secretive think-tank dedicated to weighing risks to national security called the Office of Net Assessment. Dubbed 'Yoda' by Pentagon insiders who respect his vast experience, he is credited with being behind the Department of Defence's push on ballistic-missile defence.
Note also the reference to "mass migration of populations". While what's happening now as a result of NATO's wars is bad, and may well end up being comparable to migrations in Europe during WW2, mass migration on a much larger scale may be around the corner.
What if, with one eye on the climate chaos to come, those 'Secret Government' types "across the pond in the US who feel like they're in a lab running all sorts of experiments on the rats" - as Putin aptly described them last year - are taking advantage of the 'resource war' they created in the Middle East to effect some sort of drill in which they test control methods, responses in the population and system capacities to sudden migrations of really large numbers of people caused by 'mother nature', who appears to be mirroring the planetary chaos created by psychopaths in positions of power?

Russia has since denied the claim made by Former Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari to The Guardian that Russia's ambassador to the UN met with him privately in 2012 and suggested finding "an elegant way for Assad to step aside." I'm inclined to believe them: Russia doesn't do 'regime change'. If a foreign government can't be convinced up front to do business with Russia, Russia waits until they come around.
